O-rings – reliable, cost effective sealing solutions
O-rings are one of the most frequently used products in sealing applications. O-rings are relatively inexpensive and reliable. Applications range from garden hose couplings to critical aerospace or chemical plant duties.
O-rings come in many styles and shapes. The material required depends on temperature, pressure, chemical, and other environmental factors. Materials such as EPDM, Nitrile, Buna-N, Silicone and Viton are just a few of the materials that we supply.
We can also supply O rings with an ‘X’ cross section. These are better known as an X-Ring or a Quad Ring.
We supply all standard types of materials in a range of Shore Hardnesses and colours. In addition to standard imperial and metric sizes, Eastern Seals also stocks a wide variety of non-standard sizes. Materials include; Nitrile, Silicone, EPDM, FKM, Viton, Fluorosilicone and HNBR.
UK Seals also supply the following specialist high grade materials:
AED, EDR and RGD O-Rings
Explosive Decompression (ED) is also known as Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD). This condition occurs after an elastomer is exposed to a gas laden fluid in the presence of high pressure. The pressure compresses the gas and forces it into the small spaces of the elastomer. If the rate of decompression happens quickly, the gas expands beyond the materials ability to contain the gas bubbles. This then causes fissuring, resulting in seal failure.
UK Seals offer Norsok M-710 Certified Anti-Explosive Decompression (AED), Explosive Decompression Resistant (EDR) O-Rings at very competitive prices. Our wide range of NORSOK approved materials are suitable for a variety of critical services and applications. We supply a range of formulations within the HNBR, Viton B, Viton GLT and FFKM materials that have passed the NORSOK M-710 requirements.
PERFLUOROELASTOMER / FFKM
FFKM offers excellent resistance to chemicals and extreme temperatures. Special compounds can operate beyond 300°C. FFKM is resistant to most chemicals including inorganic acids, alkalines, ketones, esters, alcohols, fuels, and hot water. It is ideal for applications in aggressive chemical environments.
Our Standard FFKM compound has outstanding heat resistance with service temperatures of -10°C to 310°C. UK Seals can offer direct equivalents to Kalrez® Simrez® Perlast® Chemraz® grades.
